Sikhs’ highest temporal seat, Akal Takht, has convened an emergency meeting on October 5 to initiate action against former Akali Minister Sucha Singh langah after his objectionable video went viral. langah, who is also the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) member, is already facing rape allegations by a former employee. Days back, a video clip went viral on the social media wherein langah was seen in compromising position with a woman. Breaking his silence on the issue, Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh said he has called an emergency meeting at Akal Takht secretariat Sahib on Thursday. “After getting the opinion of a religious adviser committee constituted for religious affairs, strict action could be taken against langah, facing rape allegations,” he said. He said he was on religious tour from last several days in Uttrakhand. “While serving on great positions of religious and social spheres, Sucha Singh langah has done such a bad deed that he has brought dishonour on the principles of Sikh code of conduct,” said the Jathedar. He added, “langah, who has served at a position in Shiromani Committee that is known worldwide as Sikh Parliament and a political party, has done a highly condemnable act...Any such act by a Sikh that hurts Sikhism principles would not be tolerated and will be punished accordingly. Such culprits would not be accepted in the religion,” he said.
