Acerbic Bajwa calls bus fare hike as Badal's gift of 'good days'

PNS

Condemning the bus fare hike in the State, Punjab Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa on Tuesday said that the Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal had gifted it to the people as a trailer of the beginning of ‘good days’.

“It was such a marvelous gift which would cut into the common man’s pockets to benefit the Badal family the most as it owned the biggest transport fleet in the State,” he said. He said that Badal had been opposing the hike in diesel rates during UPA regime but now it was NDA Government in which Akali Dal was the partner which was continuing with the same policy of diesel pricing.

“Would Badal like to share with the people whether the Akali Dal representative in the Union Cabinet Harsimrat Kaur Badal has recorded her protest against the hike in diesel pricesIJ There cannot be double standards on every issue,” he said.Ridiculing Badal for raising bus fare hike on logic that it had been demanded by the private bus operators, Bajwa said that it was Badals fleet which was the biggest in the state  with monopolisation over certain routes and as such, the main beneficiary would be the ruling Badal family.
