Coming down heavily on Congress Deputy leader in lok Sabha Capt Amarinder Singh, Haryana Finance Minister Capt Abhimanyu on Friday asked the senior Congress leader to first advice his party high command to seek apology from the soldiers, who were deprived of their rightful pension for a period of 43 years by the Congress.
“Capt Amarinder Singh should first advise Congress high command to seek apology from the soldiers, who were deprived of their rightful pension for a period of 43 years by the Congress. Families of our soldiers suffered a loss of Rs 3.50 lakh crore due to non-implementation of OROP,” said Capt Abhimanyu.
Reacting to Capt Amarinder’s letter to Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on the issue of One Rank One Pension (OROP), Capt Abhimanyu said that Capt Amarinder first tell the soldiers about efforts he made, if any, to get OROP implemented during the rule of Congress.
“BJP has brought the issue of OROP to a logical conclusion and the Government’s intentions are crystal clear, as a judicial commission to address any prospective grievances has already been put in place,” he said.
Appealing the protesters not to get involved in making further delays in implementation of OROP, Capt Abhimanyu said that
the protesters should take their grievances to the judicial commission.
He said that the decision of OROP is going to benefit 30 lakh families across the country and barring few incidents of protests prominently in Delhi, the soldiers across the country are satisfied with the implementation of OROP.
Talking particularly about Haryana, he said that soldier organisations in the state are happy with the notification as Rs 7500 crore additional disbursal will boost the financial conditions of the pensioner soldiers. He said that soldiers would get the arrears of Rs 10,500 crores also.
Capt Abhimanyu alleged that Congress has already done a massive damage to the families of soldiers, who suffered a financial loss, and it is trying to create further delay in implementation by inciting few people.
Terming the notification to be a Diwali Bananza for ex-soldiers, he said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has fulfilled both his promises of OROP and National War Memorial, he made to soldiers in Rewari Rally.
Commenting on the statement of Union Minister Chaudhary Birender Singh that there was no need of a Deputy Chief Minister in Haryana, Capt Abhimanyu said that he was a seasoned politician and he always talk sense.
Evading his comment on the need of Deputy Chief Minister in Haryana, he said that he would not like to comment on speculation.
