AAP wants CM to disclose names of Akalis in sand mafia

PNS

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) wants Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh to disclose the names of the “Akalis” in sand mafia. The party, which has submitted a representation to the Chief Minister on Sunday, declared that it would “force” him to reveal the names.

“We shall force Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh to disclose names of all those Akali leaders who are in the business of sand mining in Punjab,” said the leader of Opposition in Vidhan Sabha HS Phoolka.

Phoolka said that Captain has stated in the House that he had the list of those Akalis who are in the business of sand mining and had threatened to disclose their names if they continue to create ruckus in the assembly, after which, Akalis quietly sat on their seats.

“It shows that Captain knew the names who are running sand mafia in Punjab and do not want to take any action and share the information with the members in Vidhan Sabha and people of Punjab. It is a betrayal and an arm twisting and undemocratic method of concealing the crucial and important information from public and shielding persons who have looted Punjab and, in terms, getting political gains,” said Phoolka.

Party’s state unit co-president and Sunam MlA Aman Arora also sent a representation to the Chief Minister requesting to make public and bring to book SAD-BJP legislators or leaders involved in illegal sand and mining mafia “as disclosed by your goodself referring to a 10-12 page report on the floor of the State Assembly on June 16, 2017”.

Arora asked the Chief Minister “to come clean by taking immediate action against the SAD-BJP legislators or leaders who, within your knowledge, are involved in illegal mining across Punjab”.

“The secret report or documents in your possession made SAD-BJP legislators abandon their so-called pro-farmer stand and your mere threat of naming those in the report made them meekly surrender and obey your orders of returning back to their seats which was witnessed by the whole House and widely reported in media also,” he pointed.

Arora said that instead of bringing guilty to the book, Chief Minister is using those documents to arm-twist the SAD-BJP legislators into acquiescing the misdeeds and failures of the government, “which further makes me believe that these documents will time and again be used by your Government to get the passive consent of SAD-BJP to the misdoings and

failures of the present government”. Asking the CM to immediately made public the “documents”, and deliver the justice, Arora said the his failure to do so will be enough to prove that Congress and SAD-BJP have a “tacit understanding” when it comes to serving their own interests at the cost of the State.
