Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, addressing a ‘Badlav Janabha’ in Jind district on Sunday, announced that his party would contest all 90 seats of Haryana in the upcoming assembly elections. At the same time, he announced that the Lok Sabha polls will be fought as a part of the INDIA bloc.
“Today people only have trust in one party, which is the Aam Aadmi Party. On one side, they see Punjab, and on the other, our Government in Delhi. Today, Haryana is seeking a big change. In Delhi and Punjab, people made this big change earlier and now people there are happy,” he said.
Appealing to the people of Haryana to form the AAP Government in the State, Kejriwal said that on one side of Haryana, there is Delhi; and on the other side, there is Punjab. “There is an Aam Aadmi Party Government in both the states so we urged the people of Haryana to form the AAP government too,” he added.
Also addressing the rally, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwat Mann said that the presence of people in large numbers, despite the cold, is proof that the people of Haryana are ready for change and to write a new story this time.
Mann, calling Arvind Kejriwal a ‘son of Haryana’, said that Delhi Chief Minister has come to politics to end corruption. He ended corruption in Delhi, hence the people of Delhi formed the Aam Aadmi Party government twice with an overwhelming majority, he added.
“When the echo of his work reached Punjab, in 2022 the people of Punjab also formed the Aam Aadmi Party government in the state by giving us 92 out of 117 seats. Now it is Haryana's turn. This time in Haryana too, the AAP government will be formed with a huge majority,” he said.
It should be mentioned here that the Lok Sabha polls are due in April-May in Haryana while the assembly elections will be held later this year a few months after the general elections.
