A demoralised Aam Aadmi Party, which failed to open its account in the lok Sabha elections in Haryana has now decided not to project Yogender Yadav, party in-charge of Haryana, as chief ministerial candidate for the State Assembly elections.
Earlier Yadav’s name was being projected as the chief ministerial candidate of the party.
“I am not candidate for chief ministerial post in Haryana,” Yadav, who lost the Parliamentary polls from Gurgaon, said here. He said no one would be projected as chief ministerial candidate in the Assembly elections.
The decision of not projecting anyone cropped up immediately after the results of general elections, in which all the ten candidates of party had not only lost the elections, but had also forfeited their security deposit.
AAP had given the command of elections to Yadav after a good showing in Delhi. Earlier, it was being speculated that AAP would contest on all the 90 state assembly constituencies, but now it is expected to contest on a lesser number of seats.
“During person to person contact program, our party workers have covered 15 districts to date. After a few days, we would again sit together to know the exact view point of voters, thereafter we will formulate our strategy for the assembly elections”, said Yadav. He admitted that it is possible that this time the party may not contest on all 90 assembly constituencies.
