AAP mocks Capt's vow to end drug mafia in 24 hrs

PNS

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday ridiculed the claims by Punjab Congress president Capt Amarinder Singh to end the drug mafia from the State within 24 hours, if the Congress voted to power.

First of all, Congress would not be voted to power, and secondly, Capt Amarinder Singh has track record of shielding drug smugglers and his party has many of them,” said AAP’s Punjab convener Gurpreet Singh Waraich (Ghuggi) in a rejoinder.

Holding Capt Amarinder Singh responsible for starting drug trade, Ghuggi reminded the state Congress chief his opposition to CBI probe against his relative and Revenue Minister in SAD-BJP Government Bikram Singh Majithia who was named kingpin of drug trade by former cop turned drug lord Jagdish Bhola. The Congress party had launched chain hunger strike to press for CBI probe when Capt Amarinder had gone against the party line to protect Majithia in the synthetic drug racket, he said adding that the Congress and Akali leaders were hand-in-glove to run the drug trade.

He added that what was conceived by Capt Amarinder was later commercialized by SAD-BJP government.

“Capt Amarinder couldn’t befool people time and again. When he was Chief Minister of Punjab during 2002 to 2007, he made many such statements even after arrest of a youth Congress leader of Jalandhar with the contraband,” he said.

Ghuggi said that people of Punjab had no faith in false commitments of Capt Amarinder who is an extended arm of corrupt and inept regime like SAD-BJP alliance.
