PNS

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Wednesday lambasted Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh for stooping to lowest level of cheating Punjabis for saving his “corrupt minister” by not accepting resignation of Rana Gurjeet Singh.

“The pressure of public and AAP’s commitment to root out corruption resulted in resignation of minister Rana Gurjeet,” said AAP’s state unit president Bhagwant Mann, co-president Aman Arora, MlA Kultar Singh Sandhwa, Deputy leader of Opposition Sarabjit Kaur Manuke, MlA Prof Baljinder Kaur, MlA Jagtar Singh Hissowal, MlA Kulwant Singh Pandauri and others in a joint statement.

Mann asked Capt Amarinder that he should clarify what is stopping him to accept resignation of Rana Gurjeet. “The Chief Minister must tell the people of state what is the reason behind saving skin of the corrupt and tainted minister who himself has accepted his fault by submitting his resignation,” Mann said.

He said that not only mining scam, but Rana Gurjeet is involved in multiple scams looting state exchequer.

AAP president said that Congress party and Capt Amarinder in particular has cheated the people of state on his promise of zero tolerance against corruption by allowing his corrupt minister to rob the hard earned money of tax payers.

He said that the resignation must have come on the same day when AAP had raise the issue of minister illegally taking sand mines on the name of his chef.

Arora said that the minister, apart from acquiring sand mines, has illegally grabbed panchayati land at village Seonk near Mullanpur and also committed banking fraud on the basis of that land.

He said that hesitating in taking action against minister, the government’s action of shielding the corrupt minister shows that there are vested interests of other people in the scam as well.

Arora added that the Central Government must also take notice of illegal money transaction cases involving Rana Gurjeet and his family as per the law of the land.

He said that that a criminal case must be registered against him immediately. “Apart from the government to take action against Rana Gurjeet, it is a test for Congress president Rahul Gandhi if he comes out as a leader who can call spade a spade,” he added.
