Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday criticized the Punjab State Power Corporation limited’s decision to discontinue the free electricity to gaushalas (cow shelters) across the state.
“As this issue is attached to religio-cultural ethos of the society and is part of the social service rendered by the public at their own expenses, these gaushalas should be continued with free electricity,” said AAP’s senior leader and the leader of Opposition in Punjab Vidhan Sabha HS Phoolka.
Dakha MlA said that he, along with his fellow MlAs, would meet the Power Minister for the purpose of reinstalling the electricity supply to the gaushalas.
He said that it is unfortunate that this decision has been taken by corporation in a dictatorial manner without any proper deliberations with management of Gaushalas across the state.
