Thirty Five players from Haryana will participate in the All India Civil Services Basketball, power lifting, weightlifting and best physique Tournament 2014-15.
The Basketball Tournament would be held from November 10 to 14, 2014 at Vinay Marg Sports Complex in New Delhi while tournament for power lifting, weightlifting and best physique would be held at Weightlifting Hall, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi.
A spokesman of Haryana Sports and Youth Affairs Department said that the selection of Basketball team of 12 players would be held under the supervision of District Sports and Youth Affairs Officer on November 6 at 11 am at Subhash Stadium, Sonipat while the selection of 23 players including eight players in Power lifting, 15 in weightlifting and best physique category would be held at Khel Parisar Tejli in Yamunanagar. From November 6 to 8.
A training camp would be organized for selected basketball players at Subhash Stadium in Sonipat. A similar training camp would be orgainsed for the selected players of power lifting, weightlifting and best physique at Khel Parisar Tejli in Yamunanagar.
Prem Singh Hooda, Basket Coach would give training during the training camp and would also accompany the team to New Delhi. While Sushil Kumar, Weight lifting Coach, would give training in power lifting, weightlifting and best physique and
would also accompany the team to New Delhi.
All the expenses of players would be borne by their respective departments. All departments, offices and districts had been requested to provide their outstanding basketball players with special sports leave and other facilities, he added.
