Justice (retd) SK Mittal sworn in as lokpal Punjab
Chandigarh: Punjab Governor and UT Administrator VP Singh Badnore on Thursday administered the oath of office and secrecy to former Chief Justice of Rajasthan Justice (Retd) SK Mittal as lokpal of the state during a brief but impressive ceremony, here at Punjab Raj Bhawan in the presence of the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal. A spokesperson o said that the state Chief Secretary Sarvesh Kaushal conducted the proceedings of the oath ceremony with the permission of the Governor. The prominent dignitaries who attended swearing in ceremony included Speaker Punjab Vidhan Sabha. Charanjeet Singh Atwal, Cabinet Minister Jathedar Tota Singh, Rajya Sabha MP Balwinder Singh Bhunder among others.
Haryana to honour former MPs, MlAs
Chandigarh: Haryana Vidhan Sabha Speaker, Kanwar Pal said those Members who were not present in the Swarna Jayanti conference organised by Haryana Vidhan Sabha at Panchkula on November 3, to honour Members of Parliament (MPs) and Members of legislative Assembly (MlAs) of the state, would now be honoured at their houses. The Speaker said that the sitting MlAs of the areas concerned would now visit the former MlAs, who are aged or unable to walk, at their respective houses to honour them. He said that six former MPs and 176 former MlAs were present in the conference.
Haryana issue orders
Chandigarh: Haryana Government has ordered that Vineet Garg, Managing Director, Haryana Vidyut Parsaran Nigam and Principal Secretary, Power Department will also be Managing Director, Haryana Power Generation Corporation limited in addition to his present duties, with immediate effect.
BISI conference to be held at PGIMER
Chandigarh: The 4th annual conference of the Breast Imaging Society of India (BISI) which is being held at PGIMER, Chandigarh from November 11 to 13 will be inaugurated by Anupriya Patel, Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare. The conference is likely to be attended by about 300 faculty and delegates from India and abroad including the team of members from Society of Breast Imaging (SBI), from USA. The invited faculty includes senior and eminent radiologists from the country and abroad who are actively practicing and teaching Breast Imaging. The emphasis would be laid more on interactive cases discussions than on didactic lectures.
spl disability people to be issued certificate on spot
Shimla: Under special campaign for identification of eligible disabled persons, the disability camps would be organized at Primary Health Centre Tiara in district Kangra, Paonta Sahib Hospital in district Sirmaur and Community Health Centre Barot in district Mandi on November 11, said a spokesperson of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department. He has also urged the disabled persons to avail this opportunity so that they could be examined and if found eligible for social security pension, they would be issued disability certificates on the spot.
1st annual conference on mental health in Panchkula
Panchkula: First annual conference of society for rural mental health will be held on November 12 and 13at Holiday Inn here. Theme of conference is suicide prevention and promotion of mental health. Dr Rajeev Trehan, incharge of psychiatry and de-addiction department of Civil Hospital, Panchkula who is the organizing secretary of the conference, informed around 100 psychiatrists from state of Haryana and tricity will attend the two-day conference. He informed eminent speakers from PGI Chandigarh, GMCH 32 and from PGIMS Rohtak and doctors working in private practice will give talks on various aspects of suicide.
Haryana Govt issue directions to HoDs
Chandigarh: With shifting of the loan portfolio for various loans under the existing staff loan schemes of Haryana Government Employees, to the Punjab National Bank, the State Government has asked all the Head of Departments (HODs) and Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) to collect loan applications from the employees with immediate effect as per the standard operation procedure within the time limit. Also, the same would be uploaded on the website http://esalaryhry.nic.in to enable the Punjab National Bank to process and disburse the loan. This facility would be operationalised by December 1, 2016, said a spokesman.
