Toll tax an excess on farmers: Kiran Choudhry

Chandigarh: Kiran Choudhry, leader of Haryana Congress legislature Party, has termed the decision of the Haryana Government to impose toll tax on the Tosham-Bhiwani and Tosham-Hisar roads as “anti-people, unjust and an excess on the farmers” of the area. The State cabinet took this decision at its meeting on Monday. In a statement issued here,   the former excise and taxation minister said that it would not only put unwanted burden on the people, especially the farmers, who commute between Tosham and Bhiwani and Tosham and Hisar roads every day but also breed corruption the Chief Minister swears to eliminate. Hundreds of farmers daily travel on these two roads. “The decision to impose toll tax on these two roads is quite unjust as there is neither any municipal committee not nagar panchayat in the Bhiwani-Hisar belt. It looks like an extension of the work culture of the BJP Government to reverse the decisions taken by the previous government even if these were taken in the larger interest of the people. It smacks of negative and anti-people attitude of the BJP Government”, Choudhry added.
