Two cases of rape with minor girls were registered in the tricity — one by Chandigarh Police and the other by the Mohali Police.
In the first case, a 15-year-old girl on Sunday night was raped by a youth at the forest area of Sector-45.
The accused has been identified as 21-year-old Karan Kumar, a resident of colony number-5.
According to the FIR filed with the Chandigarh Police, the victim, on Sunday midnightwas abducted by Karan, who took her to the nearby forest area and raped her.
The girl on Monday, informed her parents about the incident and they registered a case.
The accused was arrested and was sent to judicial custody by a court on Tuesday.
In another case, a 19-year-old boy was arrested by Mohali Police on Monday night for kidnapping his 15-year-old neighbour and raping her late on Saturday night.
The accused Gopal Kevat alias Santosh, a resident of lalru allegedly kidnapped the girl late in the night and took her inside his rented accommodation.
The victim informed her parents after two days of the incident.
Mohali Police arrested Santosh from his residence, who was produced in district court of Mohali on Tuesday, where court sent him for one day police remand.
