PNS

SpiceJet on Tuesday said it has filed an application with the Civil Aviation Ministry seeking security clearance for Ajay Singh to be appointed as a director of the carrier. Singh, the original co-founder of the no-frills airline, is in the process of acquiring 58.46 per cent stake from the Marans as part of a revival plan.

In a filing to the BSE, SpiceJet said it has filed an application with the Civil Aviation Ministry for "security clearance of Ajay Singh for his appointment as director of the company". The application has been filed as per civil aviation requirements, it added. Ministry sources said that the file relating to Singh's security clearance was sent to the Home Ministry last week.
