Godrej Agrovet Ltd posted a 22 per cent rise in consolidated net profit to Rs 103 crore for the September quarter on Friday, helped by higher sales in its animal nutrition, oil palm and consumer foods businesses. Net profit rose from Rs 84.34 crore a year earlier, the company said in a regulatory filing.
Total income rose 17 per cent to Rs 2,995 crore from Rs 2,567.42 crore, while expenses climbed 18 per cent to Rs 2,886.09 crore from Rs 2,450.62 crore.
The company said growth was driven by higher realisations and volumes, although input cost inflation kept core earnings (EBITDA) flat.
“Godrej Agrovet delivered a strong Q2 FY27 despite a challenging macro-operating environment, marked by El Nino-related weather disruptions, unprecedented geopolitical volatility and inflationary pressures,” Managing Director Sunil Kataria said. Revenue in the animal nutrition segment grew 14 per cent, with segment profit up 32 per cent on better realisations, product mix and operating efficiencies. Oil palm revenue rose 28 per cent.
Crop care revenue climbed 42 per cent on a low base, but El Nino weighed on profitability.
Revenue at Astec LifeSciences fell about 3 per cent, as 15 per cent growth in its contract development and manufacturing business (CDMO) was offset by weak enterprise demand. Dairy revenue grew 6 per cent and foods rose 8 per cent, led by the business-to-consumer (B2C) segment. The company’s joint venture in Bangladesh, ACI-GAVL, grew revenue 32 per cent on 21 per cent higher volumes.
The company said it had exited shrimp feed to focus on more profitable, scalable segments, and is investing in plantation expansion and the commissioning of its Khammam complex, CPKO refinery and biogas plant in oil palm.
