Amid political heavyweights, there were quite a few well known personalities from the corporate world who contested the just concluded lok Sabha elections.
Among these were Infosys Co-founder Nandan Nilekani, Managing Director of Amrapali Group A K Sharma, Madhucon Group's N Nageswara Rao, Jindal Steel and Power ltd (JSPl) Chairman Naveen Jindal, and Ramky Group's AAR Reddy. Incidentally while all these corporate honchos lost, Amara Raja Group's Vice Chairman Jaydev Galla who contested as Telugu Desam Party (TDP) candidate from Guntur in Andhra Pradesh, won.
