Clinching the first position amongst most clean stations on Indian Railways in both A and A1 categories in the cleanliness survey by the Quality Council of India. Beas station on the Amritsar-Jalandhar City section of Firozpur Division of Northern Railway has set a new benchmark. As per Ministry of Railways’ Swachh Rail Report, Beas has scored 873.9 points whereas Visakhapatnam has scored 853.1 points out of 1000. Beas has been declared as the cleanest station in Indian Railways in both the categories with a considerable margin.
Divisional Railway Authorities and volunteers work in complete sync to maintain the high standards of cleanliness at the station. Consequently, the synergies have transformed the otherwise non-descript station into an archetype of cleanliness inspiring rail travelers to adopt healthy practices like throwing of plastics and garbage in dustbins.
