Hygiene and hospital disinfection product specialist Schülke India - which is a 100 per cent subsidiary of the Paris-based gas and healthcare services major Air liquide - is planning to come up with 5-6 new products by 2018, a move to strengthen its portfolio in order to cater to its customers in both national and international markets.

“At present, we have around 16-17 products in the market and the company plans to launch more products in the near future, reaching out to more patients all over in India and abroad. By 2018, we look forward to add 5-6 new products more to our portfolio prior to the approval,” Schulke India Managing Director Deep Sharma told The Pioneer at the sideline of an event, while celebrating its ‘25 Successful Years of Microshield®’ here in the capital recently.

Schulke India specialises in hygiene and preservation and their mission is to fight disease and contamination before they emerge. The company currently has some key products, based on Octenidine available in India like Octenisan Wash lotion, Octenisan Wash Mitts and Octenidol Mouthwash among others.

When asked about the market’s response about the product, Sharma said, “We are doing very well globally as 70 per cent of our products are being exported to emerging markets abroad. In India, Schulke is also one-stop solution for infection prevention and it helps reduce the risk of infection,” Sharma added.

However, the company’s Asia Pacific General Manager, Alexander Mueller, said, “Though our maximum revenues come from European countries, India is a strategic market for Schülke. We will continue to further develop the strong Microshield brand here and we are committed to add value to our customers, whether it is through products or through services.”

Schülke India has been driving its transformation from a tradition-steeped chemical enterprise to a modern partner for the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. With 15 international subsidiaries and a presence in more than 80 countries, the company generates a turnover of more than 250 million euros annually.
