Parampara Family Business Institute (PFBI), a non-profit research and educational institute under GMR Varalakshmi Foundation (GMRVF), the CSR arm of GMR Group, organized an online session titled “Communication and Continuity” on July 30, 2022. It was the 8 th session of its series of online symposium on ‘Essential Mantras for Family Business’.
The one-hour online symposium was aimed at benefitting participants with the knowledge and wisdom in managing the communication complexities of family businesses. David Werdiger, global family business advisor and author was the speaker and Tatwamasi Dixit, founder, Family Business Research International Center was the expert moderator.
The experts discussed the vital role of "Effective Communication" in a family-run business. The types of positive and negative interactions among the family stakeholders, their impact on family relations, family wealth, business operations, and brand image were discussed at length. Werdiger emphasized that in order to become an effective business family, family members must learn to separate emotional family dynamics from how they operate at work.
