lG ANIl BAIJAl VISITS Tilpath Valley Biodiversity Park
lieutenant Governor of Delhi, Anil Baijal along with VC, DDA Udai Pratap Singh dedicated the Tilpath Valley Biodiversity Park to the nation on Sunday. The staff of lG office, senior officials of DDA and staff of Biodiversity Park also joined the function. lG and VC, DDA and senior officials planted saplings of Bael. The lG released a booklet on Tilpath Valley Biodiversity Park. Tilpath valley is the most scenic place in Delhi and one can have panoramic view of Aravalli ranges - one of the oldest mountain in the world. It is located near Sainik Farm - IGNOU - SAARC University - Asola - Bhati Wildlife Sanctuary. The lG appreciated the scenic beauty of Tilpath Valley Biodiversity Park and complimented the scientists and DDA staff for bringing back the native Aravalli biological communities. He appreciated the role of biodiversity parks in sustaining urban environmental quality and quality of life in Delhi. He has expressed that three strorey vegetation strips should be developed to mitigate air pollution problems in Delhi. lG has been appraised about the role of natural communities in preventing health risks through enriching human micro biome leading to reduction in public health burden. He expressed that the Biodiversity Parks should facilitate cultural and recreational activities to promote community participation. He has suggested that the land Department of DDA and revenue department of Government of NCT, Delhi should address the problem of land demarcation.
