The greatest aspect of Indian democracy is that the country has survived very well unfractured for over 75 years, Dr. Justice M.Jaichandren, Former Judge of Madras High Court, said on Wednesday.
Delivering the Republic Day Special Address at SRM Institute of Science and Technology, Dr. Justice Jaichandren said.
At the same time, this was a big achievement, the people had to continue to do even better, considering the diversity — of cultural and traditional values, religions, and languages.
At the Special Lecture, organised by the School of Law of SRM IST on the eve of India's 74th Republic Day, he said there was immense diversity in our language alone — considering there were 22 languages mentioned in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution in addition to hundreds of dialects.
