Forest Department officials on Monday arrested two persons in the capital city when they were striking a deal to sell a chameleon for Rs 1.5 lakh.
The arrested duo was identified as Rashmi Ranjan Das and Khirod Mohanty, both residents of Jagatsinghpur district.
The racket was busted by a joint team of the Bhubaneswar Range and Mancheswar Range forest officials near Vani Vihar in the city.
"The accused were planning to sell the chameleon for Rs 1.5 lakh. We nabbed them at Mukherjee Park when they were trying to sell the chameleon. We have booked them under the Wildlife Act.
