The hooliganism of a Biju Yuva Bahini coordinator has come to fore in Subarnapur district.

The incident took place in Tablapada of Tarbha NAC.

Three women gave a complaint in Tarbha police station as counter against Tarbha NAC Biju Yuva Bahini coordinator Janardan Thanapati, on whose FIR police have taken one-sided action.

As per sources, there was an argument between newphew of Janardan Thanapati and Sani Naik and Amar Naik of Tablapada due to some reason at Tarbha Minabazar. Instead of compromising the silly matter of the boys, by taking advantage of his power of Yuva Bahini, Janardan along with 15 persons rushed to Tablapada at night and in the absence of male persons, abused all the women in obscene languages by indicating their caste.

He also broke the door of Narendra Naik and a shed of Sani Naik. Then Janardan abused the complainant in obscene languages by indicating her caste, assaulted and pulled her saree and threatened them to kill in life.

After that Tarbha police detained four persons in which two are minor for two days in police station. But till now Janardan has not been arrested by police although many  atrocity act cases have been lodged against him.

While contacted, IIC Tarbha Dolamani Bhoi said, "I have already informed the SP sir regarding this as I have no power to probe the atrocity case."

While contacted, BJD district president Saroj Kampa said he was unaware of the case. What happened to him, it’s up to him. There is no role of BJD party here, he told.

On the other hand, it is alleged that some senior BJD leaders are trying to suppress the matter by putting pressure. Meanwhile, the locals demanded intervention of the National Commission of Scheduled Castes and the Women Commission in the matter.
