Thousands of youths under the banner of the Koshal Sangharsh Yuva Sena (KOSYS) took out a procession and gathered in front of the office of the RDC (ND) to ventilate their anger over the new job policy of the State Government.
They also shouted slogan against the Government as its recent decision is going to accentuate the regional imbalance that the people here have been complaining very often.
The youths, mostly college students and educated unemployed, protested the decision of the State Government to convert the district cadre jobs to State cadre. “This will deprive the people of the region of getting jobs locally and particularly in the office of the Collectors, RDC and rest other local offices,” charged Dulal Chandra Pradhan, a member of KOSYS.
“The Government has taken such a decision with all evil intention and the candidates of western Odisha will feel the pinch,” alleged KOSYS convenor Sunil Purohit. He also narrated how the candidates will suffer due to the fresh decision.
“The State Government will be held responsible for any unpleasant situation that will be created due to the faulty decision,” the members warned.
“MCl, major industries, different other PSUs are here. But jobs belong to the outsiders,” Purohit and many other members of KOSYS lamented. Even there are some places where we have to speak in Hindi instead of Odia or Sambalpuri to stay put, they said. For such faulty decision and anti youth activities, the unemployment situation has reached the peak here and the youths are just spending miserable lives due to lack of jobs or similar other source of income, the members mentioned.
They submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister through the RDC, demanding rollback of a Cabinet decision on cadre jobs.
