Tension prevailed after a dead body of a youth was recovered from an oil tanker cabin at Katada under the Jarapada police station in Angul district in the wee hours on Saturday.
The body of the deceased, identified as Gyanendra Dehury, was found in the cabin of the oil tanker that was parked in front of a roadside dhaba named Classic Hotel at Katada.
local villagers alleging hand of the Classic Hotel owner and his staffs in the youth’s death ransacked the dhaba. They also staged a demonstration demanding a thorough probe into the incident and compensation for the deceased’s family. As a result of the protest, vehicular communications was disrupted on National Highway -55 connecting Sambalpur and Cuttack for hours. later, senior police officials rushed to the spot and tried to pacify the mob. Meanwhile, police have detained the dhaba owner and two others in connection with the incident and investigating into the incident.
