Youths bat for abolition of quota system

PNS

Demanding complete abolition of the quota system, the Youth for Equality, Odisha and the India against Reservation staged a dharna at the lower PMG here on Sunday.

The agitators alleged that due to caste-based reservation in appointment, admission and promotion, many talented and capable persons go unrecognised.

“Until and unless the quota system is abolished, the country will continue to remain a developing country only. At the same time, developed countries like America, Canada will take away skilled persons from our country to work there,” said Youth for Equality chief general secretary Dinabandhu Sarangi.

The Government should bring reformation in this regard. True skilled persons should be praised in every field. Only then, the country will move towards development, said senior journalist and India Against Reservation chairman Arun Pnada. Besides, Akhila Bharatiya Samanata Manch president Bhagirathi Mahasuar called upon everyone to launch an intensified concerted stir in coming days to press for the demand.
