A courageous youth chased three bike-borne miscreants and nabbed two of them, who allegedly looted from his mother on the Canal Road in Bomikhal under the Mancheswar police station on Wednesday.
Sources said the youth Subrat Ojha and his mother Manorama were travelling in an auto-rickshaw when the looters snatched away a gold chain from the neck of the woman and tried to flee the spot by their motorcycle.
But Subrat immediately jumped from the three-wheeler and chased the snatchers. Later, he managed to grab two of them following which they fell from the two-wheeler. But one of miscreants’ managed to escape.
Locals soon rushed at the spot on hearing the commotion and thrashed the snatchers severely and handed them over to police.
