A youth was shot at by unidentified miscreants in the district on Saturday night. The youth, identified as lajja Pangi, sustained a bullet injury and was admitted to the Sahid laxman Nayak Medical College Hospital here.
Doctors at the hospital informed that Pangi sustained the bullet injury on his back and his condition was critical.
A few unidentified miscreants opened fire at him from behind when he was returning home, sources said.
Though the motive behind the firing was yet to be ascertained, police suspected that as the incident occurred on the first day of the Martyrs’ Week being observed by the Maoists in the region, it might be their handiwork.
