The Commissionerate police on Friday arrested a youth in the city for allegedly blackmailing a college girl with her obscene video, which he had filmed while she was bathing.
The arrestee was identified as Ashok Das alias Dipu (27) of Bhaliali village in Nayagarh district. He was residing at a slum under the Mancheswar police station here.
The accused had shot a video of the girl with a mobile phone while she was taking bath. Later, he started blackmailing the girl with the clip and forced her to have physical relationship with him. On Thursday night, Dipu tried to outrage her modesty. But hearing her screams some locals nabbed the youth and handed him over to police.
