A group of armed assailants on Friday night lynched a youth at Tarini slum under the Salia Sahi area here over an issue of parking of a motorcycle. The victim, identified as Rajaram Nayak, is a painting worker.
According to information, a group of around 15 youths attacked Rajaram and his friend all of a sudden on Friday night. A few days back, they had an altercation with Rajaram over parking of a vehicle. Rajaram was first rushed to the Capital Hospital here and then rushed to the SCB Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, said Commissioner of Police RP Sharma. He said a case of unnatural death has been registered and police have detained four suspects for questioning.
‘’Two groups from Salia Sahi had some dispute over parking of a bike and both the sides had filed cases against each other. last night, a group from one of the slums attacked the victim who succumbed to his injuries in the SCB. Police have been deployed in Salia Sahi and four suspects have been rounded up for questioning. Other culprits will be arrested after details are gathered from further interrogation of the suspects,’’ Sharma said.
