A youth committed suicide by jumping before a moving train near the Patia railway station here on Wednesday night.
The deceased, identified as Partha Narayan Das, who hailed from Lambhitala village under the Brahmagiri police station in Puri district, was a video editor of a private news channel.
According to sources, Das’ mutilated body was recovered from the railway tracks. Though the exact reason behind his death was yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that he committed suicide by jumping in front of a speeding train.
On getting information, General Railway Police (GRP) personnel reached the spot and sent the body for postmortem.
He was depressed for the past couple of days due to some financial problems. However, his family members are yet to comment on the incident.
