In order to have some wealth to start a Dhaba, a youth drugs his grandfather at night and commits robbery at home. The incident has come to the fore in a businessman’s family at Bargrh!
As per information, the family members of Omprakash Agrawal, a well established businessman of Bargarh town alleged in the local police station that gold and silver ornament of Rs 35 lakh and cash worth Rs 30, 000 was stolen from their home on April 27 night.
While investigating the case, police suspected the role of the insiders in the incident. While some almirahs were open with proper keys, few others were broken. Further, the miscreants decamped through the roof instead of using any front or side doors.
It came to the notice of police that on that particular night only Kahnu and his grandfather Omprakash were in the home. Normally, Ompraksh sleeps at 12 pm in the night. But that night he slept at 10 pm and woke up late in the day. “We suspect Omprakash was drugged that night,” said the IIC of Bargarh BM Haripal. “Our suspicion came true when Kanhu, the grandson admitted the matter during interrogation in presence of the SP,” Haripal added. He also revealed the names of the two persons who assisted him in the theft that night.
“Not only did we arrest Rajat Agrawal and Nabi Ahammad, we also recovered all the ornaments and Rs 10, 000 cash from their possession. The court rejected their bail petition following which they were remanded in jail custody,” Harpal informed.
“We have also handed over all the ornaments and cash to the owner,” he added.
During interrogation, Kahnu said that he incurred a huge loss in all his previous business. In order to start a hotel (dhaba) he did all these to collect fund for the new business, he confessed to police.
