In a road mishap at Siuli Chhak near Raghunathpur on the Cuttack-Paradip State Highway, a 25-year-old youth, Ashutosh Mishra, hailing from Sompur village under the Kissannagar police limits was killed on Monday night.
Ashutosh was returning to his village by his bicycle when a bus coming from Paradip hit him from behind. He sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the Raghunathpur hospital, from where he was shifted to the SCB Medical College Hospital in Cuttack after his condition turned critical. But he was declared brought dead.
Police handed over the youth’s body to his family member on Tuesday. A palm of gloom descended on Sompur after Ashutosh’s death news reached the village. Ashutosh was a Pharmacy graduate and the only son of Abhay Mishra, a transport businessman.
The Raghunathpur police seized the bus.
