The Ama Adhikar, an Odisha-based youth organisation, on Wednesday staged a demonstration in front of the East Coast Railways (ECoR) headquarters office here in protest against the Central Government’s move to shift the Waltair Division from the ECoR jurisdiction to Andhra Pradesh.
They demanded immediate reversal of the decision. The organisation submitted a memorandum addressed to the Union Railway Minister through the General Manager, ECoR, Bhubaneswar seeking his intervention in the matter. The outfit’s coordinator Amiya Pandav said the Waltair Division serves the people of south Odisha and “We will not allow its annexation to Andhra Pradesh”.
