A body of a youth with severe cuts and wounds was found lying on a rail track near Kanas Road station here on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Mohan Kumar Baral (19) of Jorakani village under the Delanga police station. Reportedly, Mohan was engaged in tent making works for a marriage function in Motori village and he was present there till 1.30 am on Thursday night.
After seizing the body, Khordha GRP with help of Sakhigopal police handed over the body to his family after conducting autopsy in hospital.
The body was first spotted on Friday morning by some local people, who informed the guard at the nearby Jagadalpur level-crossing and later, to authorities at the Motori station and police.
Locals said Mohan might have suddenly come under a running train, while he was jumping the rail lines in the night. However, the family of the deceased brought an allegation of murder.
