A beheaded body of a youth was recovered from Sunamukhi forest near Alatara village of M Rampur under Karlamunda tehsil of Kalahandi district on Friday. Locals spotted the body and informed police.
M Rampur IIC Sachindra Pradhan reached the spot and initiated an investigation. The identity of the deceased was yet to be ascertained
Three rings were found on the right fingers of the deceased along with scuff marks of a motorbike on his palm. The exact cause of death would be established after the postmortem report is availed, police said.
In another incident, a human skeleton was found at the beach near Kushabhadra estuary of Ramachandi under the Chandrabhaga Marine police station in Puri district on Thursday.
Police seized the skeletal remains and sent it for postmortem.
Some residents of Gadabangara village had gone to a nearby forest, during which they spotted the skeleton.Getting information, police reached the spot and started an investigation. It was yet to be ascertained whether it’s a case of murder or drowning in the sea.
All police stations of Puri district have been informed about the incident while the skeleton would be kept for 96 hours for the purpose of any possible identification of the deceased, police said.
