Yoga and Pranayam are ancient Indian cultural practices for maintenance of physical and mental health which helps to achieve self-discipline. Such practices are more relevant to women, as they can educate about it to all the members of family,” said Bharatiya Yog Sansthan Mahamantri Desrajji after inaugurating the inaugural function of the Jayadeb Batika Mahila Yog Sadhan Kendra here.

He also highlighted the impact of modern life style and appealed to the gathering to do yoga and pranayam daily. “In the modern days of luxury intensive sedentary life style, junk food and stress, the incidence of diabetes, cancer, stroke and such other non-communicable is on the rise. Only yoga and paranyam can prevent one from such diseases,” observed Desrajji.

He also presented the banner of Bhratiya Yog Sansthan as a symbol of chartering to the Jayadeb Batika Mahila Yog Sadhan Kendra. This is the 49th Kendra in Bhubaneswar and 55th in Odisha. Odisha sector chief Pradhan Suresh Mohapatar and Manju among many others attended the function.
