The World Yoga Day was observed by the Sovaniya Movement at the Sovaniya Sikshashram premises here on Sunday. Sikshashram secretary Arundhanti Devi presided over the event that featured yoga programme and a consciousness awakening meeting.
Devi said Yoga inculcates spirituality, morality, physical fitness and even patriotism in an individual. Educationist Jugal Kishore Rai and social activist Nirakar Beura said since Pujyashri Kumar Bhai had made yoga mandatory at Sovaniya Sikshashram back in 1974, Ramdev Baba spread it all over the country and Prime Minister Narendra Modi through the UNO has made it worldwide.
Sovaniya Movement members, Sikshashram students and local yoga lovers joined the event. Guruma Mamata supervised the programme and described the various benefits of yoga.
