BJP MlA Radharani Panda on Friday said the State Government could be in jeopardy if she speaks out the exact words told to her by Agriculture Minister Pradeep Moharathy in the Assembly on Thursday.
“The Minister used very dirty slangs while asking me to abstain from shouting and protesting in the Assembly. What I have told the media is just a tip of the iceberg. If I divulge those derogatory words in full in the public, people of the State would come out to the streets in protest against the Minister and the Government,” Panda told mediapersons.
She further alleged that the Naveen Patnaik Government does not know how to behave well with women. “The BJD came to power selling the slogan “respect to women”. But the Minister’s misconduct in the Assembly on Thursday has proved that it (the Government) doesn’t know how to behave well with the women,” she said.
She said she along with her party colleagues would continue to protest in the Assembly until Maharathy apologises in the House. She also sought a clarification from the Chief Minister on the issue. On Friday, Panda stood on the Reporters’ table in the House throughout the day protesting Maharathy’s alleged misconduct.
