After the May 30 felony in the house of a retired High Court Judge here, armed intruders robbed the house of a film producer of the city on Saturday night spreading panic among the residents.
"At least seven intruders entered the house of Yaswant Debta near Madhupatna Square and decamped with gold and silver ornaments, cash and other valuables after tying up the family members," police said, adding that the exact amount of missing jewellery and cash have not been ascertained yet.
The incident has again put a big question mark on the competence of the elite Commissionerate Police as it took place just about 200 metres from an important police station and within
two months of a crime of similar nature.
Quoting the victim's family, police said the intruders entered in the house after breaking a window grille at around 2.30 am and tied Debata, his wife and their son in a room at knifepoint.
For about 45 minutes, the robbers searched forornaments, cash and other valuables from the almirahs and cupboards and they were speaking in
Telugu, said Debata, adding that the gang seemed to be professionals.
