Several members of the District Youth Congress on Monday staged a dharna in front of the Vedanta Industries main gate here to seek recruitment of locals by the Siemens India Pvt ltd.
The Youth Congress activists alleged that the Siemens is recruiting outsiders despite an ample number of unemployed youth in the district being fit for the same jobs.
The agitators also demanded that the company verify the domicile certificates of its employees immediately or face an intensified agitation by the party.
Jharsuguda Assembly Congress Committee president Robin Kumar Pandey and the Brajrajnagar Youth Congress president were also present at the dharna and handed a memorandum to the Vedanta HR Head.
