Itishree’s father Balabhadra Pradhan has refused to accept the ex-gratia of `10 lakh. He has demanded that her daughter’s killers be hanged. An anguished Balabhadra told a local newspaper, “I won’t accept a ‘Toli’ (penny); give capital punishment to the accused.”
“Asking for justice, my daughter met with the most painful incendiary death,” he said, adding, “The Government has not been able to apprehend all the culprits but has said to give `10 lakh ex-gratia. What shall I do with the money when my daughter is no moreIJ “Will she ever returnIJ Her soul will not rest in peace till the accused are hanged. Nothing less than that will satisfy me,” the shattered father further said in a chocking voice with tears rolling down his face.
