A delegation of the BJD on Friday met CPI national secretary and MP D Raja in New Delhi seeking his support for women in the Parliament and State Assemblies.
The team comprising MPs Kalikesh Narayan Singh Deo and Kulamani Samal handed over a letter from BJD president Naveen Patnaik to Raja seeking support from his party for ensuring a 33-per cent reservation for women in the Parliament and State Assemblies.
Responding positively to the issue, Raja mentioned that his party is very appreciative of the initiative taken by Patnaik.
As decided earlier by the BJD leadedrship, BJD delegations are visiting leaders of 22 national and regional parties across the country seeking their support on women's reservation.
