KSHIRABDHI TANAYA

Three women, in a fit of anger, barged into the Dera gram panchayat office under Rajnagar police limits and assaulted the sarpanch and the executive officer on Tuesday.

The trio identified as Chanda Bewa, Madhuri Bewa and Nachhi Mohanty of Gokhani village on Tuesday afternoon forcibly entered into the Dera Panchayat office and started beating Sarpanch Debendra Kumar Jena and executive officer Annanta Kumar Hansda with broom sticks while they were working in the office in presence of ward member Bikas Kumar Pradhan and a couple of other persons. Even ward member Pradhan faced the wrath of the trio women when he tried to pacify them and restricted them from beating the Sarpanch and executive officer.

The victims lodged three separate FIRs at Rajnagar police station against the women. Police registered a case under various Sections of IPC and Section 3 of SC and ST (PA) Act against the women.

On the other hand, a counter FIR was filed by the trio women against the Sarpanch in which they alleged that while they were returning after catching fish, they had a tiff with one Bapi Mohanty after the latter allegedly misbehaved with them.

Sarpanch Jena who appeared there asked the trio women to come to his office for sorting out the dispute with Bapi. However, when they reached the office, they were allegedly misbehaved by the Sarpanch and ward member Pradhan, besides

Bapi. Even, they attempted to outrage their modesty. Rajnagar police have started an investigation by registering two separate cases. Nobody has been arrested yet.
