A four-year-old girl has sustained severe burn injuries after a woman allegedly poured hot rice gruel on her owing to a quarrel between two families in Bhadrak district.
According to reports, Niranjan Das’ wife Annapurna had a verbal duel with their neighbour Basanti Das over a petty issue on Saturday. An infuriated Basanti allegedly threw hot rice gruel on Annapurna who happens to be the former’s sister-in-law. However, Niranjan’s daughter suddenly came on the way and got injured in the incident.
The minor girl was first rushed to the Chandbali Community Health Centre and later to the District Headquarters Hospital here. As her condition deteriorated, she was shifted to the SCB Medical College Hospital, Cuttack for specialised treatment.
The shocking incident took place at Sompur village under the Chandbali police station in the district.
