A married woman in Remuna has been on dharna for about two months in front of her in-laws’ house seeking to enter her matrimonial house at Srikrushnapur under Ward No. 12 of Remuna NAC.
Sumati Behera had married Gora Behera about 16 years ago. They were residing in a rented house as Gora is working in the Electricity Department. Following a marital discord between them, they had

However, when Sumati wanted to return to her in-laws’ house six months ago, she was not allowed by the latter. Consequently, for the last two months, she has been sitting in front of the main entrance gate with
her six years’ old son.
Sumati said that regarding her plights she has informed the local IIC of the Industrial police station, as well to the Superintendent of Police. Further, she sought help of the ‘One Stop Centre’ but so far
she has not got any relief.
She further alleged that her tent was uprooted by her in –laws who also threatened her of dire consequences recently.
