Miscreants broke into the house of a woman OAS officer at Nayapalli here twice in the last 12 days and looted cash and other valuables. The burglars decamped with valuables worth around Rs 5 lakh in the twin burglary incidents within a fortnight. As per reports, the burglars had first struck at Sonali Priyadarshini’s house and decamped with gold ornaments and cash worth around Rs 3 lakh on August 18.
The OAS officer, who lives with her husband, installed CCTV at her house a day after the first break.
However, that did prove a hindrance for the burglars who in the second attempt and took away the CCTV hard-disk along with cash and other valuables around Rs 1 lakh on Monday. Priyadarshini said, “I am not feeling safe as most of the times we are out on duty. Already the miscreants have been successful twice and the CCTV failed to scare them. I think they are professionals as they left no clues and escaped from the spot.”
