A 25-year-old woman was allegedly murdered for dowry by her in-laws at Kainmundi village in Banki area on Wednesday.The deceased was identified as Babina Dhara of Phategarh village of Banki.
The incident came to light after Babina’s uncle Pradeep Dalei reported to the police on Wednesday morning that his niece was beaten to death over a dowry issue.
Later, the police reached the spot and sent the body for post-mortem. On the basis of an FIR lodged by the family of the deceased, the Banki police registered a case and started interrogating Babina’s in-laws. Meanwhile, the police detained Bebina’s husband Prakash Dhara and further investigations were underway.
