A married woman was found hanging in her home at Jhiyasahi village under Balibili panchayat in Bari block of Jajpur district on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Sasmita Jena.According to sources, Sasmita had married Prabhat Jena, the youngest son of Vidyadhar Jena of Jhiyasahi , three years ago.
A the time of marriage all the demands of the groom’s family were fulfilled.. However, her mother-in-law often harassed Sasmita, demanding more dowries.
A written complaint was lodged with the Bari-Ramchandrapur police by Sasmita’s kin that the mother-in-law had killed Sasmita. Police have detained the deceased’s mother-in-law and father-in-law for interrogation.
They have have registered a case in this regard and are investigating further, said Bari PS IIC Ajay Kumar Jena.
