The transfer of a female health worker from a KBK district to Cuttack on deputation without any replacement arrangement breaches the Government rule, which says that unless one fills a post that lies vacant for the transfer of another from a KBK district, the transfer cannot take place.
However, with affiliation to the corridor of power, one Chitrangada Samantray, working as a female health worker in Birmaharajpur hospital was transferred to Cuttack city hospital even as the post lies vacant in Biramaharajpur.
Since there are lots of posts in the Health Department lying vacant in KBK district, with new recruits unwilling to move to the interior parts, how Samantaray was transferred and she was relieved without a replacement is a question here.
A female health worker is the first advisor of mother and new born child whose role is crucial for safe delivery of child and health of mother and child.
The tribal and poor people here are not able to get proper care and treatment due to absence of adequate number of health officials.
Yet, Samantray was transferred and interestingly, while working in Cuttack, she is getting her salary from Birmaharajpur. locals have demanded immediate filling of the post at Birmaharajpur.
